Setup: Telling Avid What's Most Important to You

A quick guide on how to train Avid on what channels and giving levels matter most to you.

Customizing Avid Insights for Your Role

Most nonprofit and reporting tools take a one-size-fits-all approach. Avid is different. It uses AI to tailor insights based on what’s most important to you and your role. Whether you're a Chief Development Officer, Major Gift Officer, or Online Fundraising Manager, Avid prioritizes the data that matters most to your work.

Step 1: Access Your User Settings

  1. Click on My Account in the bottom left corner.

  2. Select Edit Profile.

  3. Click on the Prioritization tab at the top.

Step 2: Customize Your Insights

Here, you’ll see a list of channels, giving levels, and key metrics that are dynamically generated based on your connected data sources. You can adjust them to reflect your priorities:

  • Move the slider up for things that are more important to you and your role.

  • Move the slide down for things that are less important.

Avid will consider what's most important to you when deciding what's most important to show you within the Insights tool.

How do I know that I'm not missing important insights?

Avid is intelligent enough to know what big changes matter—even if you've set the specific channel as a lower priority.

For example, if you have the Online giving channel set as a low priority, Avid won't often show you when there's a 2% change in something like online donor reactivation.

But if Online revenue increases (or decreases) by 50%, that will show up in your Insights because that level of change can have a drastic impact on your overall fundraising program.

Step 3: Save and Let Avid Work for You

Once you've made your selections, click Save Changes. Avid will now highlight the insights that are most relevant to you. If key changes occur in the areas you’ve prioritized, Avid will ensure you see them first every time you log in.

By personalizing your Avid experience, you’ll get the most relevant data at a glance—helping you make faster, smarter fundraising decisions.
