Playbooks: How to Edit an Asset

An "asset" is an individual message ranging from emails, to texts, to donation pages. Avid provides powerful tools for creating the perfect message to match to your audience's passions.

 

After creating a fundraising campaign using Avid’s Playbook Creation Wizard, the next step is refining and personalizing the individual campaign assets. These assets—emails, Facebook ads, Google ads, donation pages, and more—are auto-generated using your initial strategic brief. However, Avid gives you full control to edit, regenerate, and optimize each asset to align with your unique voice and campaign goals.

This article outlines how to edit these assets, use AI-driven tools to regenerate content, and tie assets to the right audiences and destinations.

 

Accessing and Navigating Campaign Assets

  1. Go to the Playbooks Page in Avid.

  2. Select your campaign (e.g., “Fiscal Year-End Campaign”).

  3. This will take you to the Playbook Overview page with a full listing of the assets that have been created. Assets are sortable by creation date, creator, or asset type for easier management.

Click on an asset (e.g., an email) to enter the editor.

Editing Individual Assets

Direct Editing

    • Directly modify individual elements of the asset such as Subject Line or Sender. For rich content like emails or landing pages, you can use Avid’s in-line text editor to add formatting, links, images, etc.

    • The type of asset will dictate the inputs available to be edited. Each channel (Facebook, Google, SMS) requires slightly different formatting and inputs.

    • All assets are drafted based on your primary asset and strategic brief, but you are encouraged to refine them further.

Regenerating Asset Content with AI

Avid provides a “Regenerate Content” button that allows you to recreate the asset if you don’t like the tone, structure, or messaging.

Regeneration Options:

    • Basic Regeneration: Uses the original campaign prompt and configuration to rebuild the asset.
    • Enhanced Regeneration with Guidance: Add instructions such as:
      • “Use a friendlier tone”
      • “Include recent organizational accomplishments”
      • “Make the language more urgent”
      The AI uses both your guidance and Avid’s proprietary fundraising intelligence to rewrite the content effectively.
    • Applying Behavioral Psychology Concepts: Select motivational levers (e.g., urgency, social proof) to shape content that drives action. Definitions are provided for each concept.
    • Copywriting Frameworks: Utilize specific writing frameworks to achieve to approach and tone you are looking for. The definitions are provided with each example.
    • Other Assets: You can select other assets so that the AI will mirror the tone and content for assets that you've already drafted. It will use the existing copy as the starting point and rewrite it to get it closer to the provided example.

 

Assigning Audiences and Personalization

Avid allows you to assign audiences (known as database personas) to each asset:

    • Choose from predefined audience segments such as “Active Donors” or “Lapsed Donors.”

    • Each persona includes associated motivations and value propositions that guide how the content is rendered.

    • You can create your own audiences that are defined by your data with unique value propositions in the Settings section of Avid.

This ensures that messages resonate at a one-to-one level and align with each audience’s behavioral data.

 

Connecting Assets to Destinations

    • You can assign the destination to ensure continuity between messaging and conversion flow. This will auto-populate the correct link when assets are deployed by Avid and will provide better context to the AI.
